Pictures 2012: Just a minute ... 
7th Annual New Jersey Student Music Composition Contest
In the tradition of Mussorgsky’s masterpiece, Pictures at an Exhibition, New Jersey Pre-college (grades 7-12) and College students are invited to create an original
one-minute composition for solo piano based on Untitled #142 (right) by Philip Guston, currently on exhibit at the Montclair Art Museum. Winning compositions will be premiered by Carl Patrick Bolleia in the Pictures 2012 Concert at the Montclair Art Museum on
Thursday, May 24th.

AWARDS:
  • Pre-College Category (7-12th grade) – 2 composers will each receive $100
  • College Category – 1 composer will receive $250
  • All three selected pieces will also be performed in concert and professionally recorded

    Pieces by Tara Buzash, Hank Mason, Aria L. Hadjipetkov and Adam Har-zi
    will be performed on Thursday, May 24 at 7:30pm at the
    PICTURES 2012 CONCERT at the Montclair Art Museum along with
    the Ionisation Pictures 2012 Commissions from several of NJ’s top composers.
